Day 4 – Rewards

The biking God granted us today a lovely weather. Probably a reward for the yesterday‘s rain. Moreover the views were fantastic.

Leaving Landeck up the Valley of the river Inn . Can you imagine a better weather?
So simple, so sustainable, and the water is drinkable
Shakespeare used to claim that arose by any other name would smell as sweet. I dare to add that a freshly split wood smell also sweet
This is a part where we got lost. By taking a wrong turn, and had to return 3 km. The reward of this view, however, was worth it.
The rewarding use of the river Inn
Entering Switzerland. A country with low taxes, minimal misuse of the welfare system and high individual responsibility . What a dream compared to the bureaucratic EU excelling only in spending other people’s money. Anyway, our journey through Switzerland last only half an hour.
Back in Austria. Having managed 11 steep serpentines from the river Inn up to an elevation of 1100m, we are rewarded by the view at Nauders, the last village on the Austrian side before entering South Tyrol.
Entering Italy. Looking at the stickers below, I recall a favorite saying of my dad: the names of the stupid ones are seen on all poles ( For the Czech speakers: Jména hloupých na všech sloupích).
High five at the elevation of 1516 m . We have just reached the Reschen pass – the highest point on our journey.
South Tyrol , the Alps are here different at the first glance. A historical comment; If Austria, spurred on by Germany, had not started the First World War, the South Tyrolleans might be paying their taxes till today to Vienna
The villages too. I mean have own typical flair.
Glurns, the smallest town in Italy, and the final lack of our today’s journey
We feel delighted by the lightness of local architecture . Thus it is probably no coincidence that the bike holders look here like this.
88 km and 1300 elevation meters today including countless rewards 🙂
