Day 3 – Up the hills

Biker’s happiness has four possible stages of degradation. 1) Weather too hot, 2) Weather too cold, 3) Rain, 4) Pedaling up the hills in a cold rain on a steep gravel track. We managed to reach the fourth grade today. But comforted our souls that this is an integral part of the biking fun. Probably this attitude helped us to stay in the fourth grade for and half an hour only 🙂

Leaving Reutte in the morning and looking what is in front of us raises the question how can we ever pass through these hills?
The answer comes sooner than expected. By pushing our bikes through the steepest sections. Actually, I recognize every stone here, since I took this little piece two years ago on a different tour. Equally panting with my head down.
Most of the churches in Tyroll have narrow steep spires like a needle. This one seems to be very much under the Bavarian influence. What could be the story behind that? Money, love, or just copy and paste 500 years ago?
Another biker’s Romance , this time going direction Ehrwald
The pig covered with snow is Zugspitze, the highest mountain of Germany on the border to Austria
“Panorama track” is actually a euphemism for steep gravel paths. But it rewarded us with vies like this.
Looks inconspicuous but it was a rewarding view from the highest point on today’s track. 1261 m above the sea level reached in the above mentioned cold rain.
Turquoise lakes
Another Alpine romance. Meadows were hay still has a value.
But Tyroll can offer modern architecture as well. Like this one close to Landeck our today’s destination

82 km and 1100 elevation meters with some rain which again is an integral part of bikers happiness
