Day 9 – Perspectives

Where are you going?
To Triest and then across the Alps to Austria.
Where from?
Valencia.
How many kilometers?
About 3000
This is what I learned from a German cyclist, whom I incidentally pedaled along. Additionally other facts like that the Brook saddles are the best ones for long tips, that he took a sabbatical to spend more a month on the road, that he spent his youth in Canada, but then returned to Portugal, met a girl, felt in love and returned to Germany, etc… These discussions are what I love on biking. Useful and useless information which bond people. And also put things into perspective that our planned 800 km is nothing compared to others.

As I learned, the plains of Po witnessed heavy battles at the end of the second world war. A tranquilizing feeling, that this prepared exhibition. It’s just a hindsight perspective
The popular tree created just a nice framework here. But the ones I saw yesterday are used to create heating pellets. The same fast growing soft wood, different perspective on their future
With this advertising, every biker must simply visit this city to see if it is true. Yes, it was.
Hard to say, if we can be lucky that the medieval age, where these stone bullets were shot from huge cannons, are over. Modern drones make look the old battles look like almost innocent skirmishes. Anyway, this is the castle of the city Ferrara.
Andy Warhol, whose parents were born in Slovakia, made it to Ferrara, too.
Crossing the river Po again. The news claiming that the water level is extremely low seem not to be fakes. Or should I ask Donald Trump on his perspective?
The Internet is master of perspectives. When booking a B&B , this garden looked like a huge park. Probably even on this photo of mine. In reality, this is a tiny strip squeezed into a triangle between two busy roads. The B&B, however, was fine 🙂
Bicycle repair shop in Rovigo. My well intended attempt to make sure the brakes of my wife’s bicycle work fine ended with extremely contradicting perspectives. Good news: In the end we can still continue biking tomorrow
What perspective you take, the facts are: 89 km from Sermide via Ferrara to Rovigo
